Fox Radio/McDonald's Christmas Toy Drive helps out Big Brothers Big Sisters Families in Need.

On December 7th, 2016, North Bay Citizens rallied together and dropped off toys at McDonald's to assure that the children in our community would have a happy Christmas. One of the three stops for the Fox/McDonald's toy drive is none other than Big Brothers Big Sisters. On the morning of December 7th, our office was filled with toys and Christmas cheer as we were given over 150 items for our children and youth. It's such a wonderful experience and we can't thank the people of North Bay enough for their generosity. A special thank you also goes out to Mitch Belanger and Vicki Tyler of the Fox; Brad, Joanne and Jennifer of McDonald's, the Fox, McDonald's and Giant Tiger.

40th Annual Christmas Party is one for the Books!

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Christmas Party was held on December 13th at the Capitol Centre. Bigs and Littles lined the theatre for their chance to have dinner, watch a movie and meet our special guest, Santa! A delicious turkey dinner was served by Dianne's Catering and then Micky Mouse Christmas was shown on the big screen. Each child also had their moment with Santa who brought them a special gift to take home. We would like to thank Beta Sigma Phi, Fox FM and McDonalds Toy Drive, Royal Canadian Legion Branches 599 and 445, Canadian Forces Base 406 Squadron, Dr. Herbert A Bruce Chapter 1ODE, Ontario Power Generation, Rebuilt Resources, Allan Hirsch, Account on Fullerton, Atlas Copco, Cementation, True North Chevrolet, Micheline Gervais, Dr. Bob King, Jim's Locksmithing, Caisse Populaire, CIBC and Canadore College for making this event possible.

Second Annual Walk for Kids' Sake a Success

Big Brothers Big Sisters month has already brought much excitement to the agency as over 60 participants and volunteers came together to make the First Annual Walk/Run for Kids' Sake a great success! Over $4,500 was raised for our local child mentoring programs. The events kicked off with a fun warm-up courtesy of Goodlife Fitness. Runners and Walkers painted the North Bay Waterfront purple with their new Walk for Kids' Sake t-shirts as they completed the 2km and 5km routes. Participants were greeted at the finish line by Deputy Mayor Sheldon Forgette and congratulated with a beautiful medal. We would like to thank everyone who make this day possible, including our participants, volunteers and sponsors.
