Go Girls! Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds | An after school program offiliated with local educational institutions. Volunteers commit to mentoring young girls and promoting a healthy, active way of life through various activities.The program encourages physical activity, healthy eating and the development of a positive self-image, among girls in grades 5 and 6. Volunteers spend two hours a week for eight consecutive weeks leading group discussions about healthy living and emotional, social and cultural issues. |
Game On! Eat Smart, Play Smart, Live Smart | An after school program offiliated with local educational institutions. Volunteers commit to mentoring young boys and promoting a healthy, active way of life through various activities.Similar to Go Girls, the program is designed to promote a positive self-image amongst boys in grade 5 and 6. |
| Youth Opportunities Program | The Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) provides out-of-school immigrant and newcomer youth in Ontario with leadership, mentorship and community activities to help them build marketable skills while providing them with opportunities for meaningful community engagement. |
| In-School Mentoring | Involves spending one hour a week with one child, doing non-academic activities in the child's school. It's about being someone a child can talk to and larn from-- sharing interests with them, encouraging them, building on their strengths, all of which can lead to improved self-esteem and a more positive outlook on their life! |
