Board of Directors

Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Bay and District has an operational year of April 01 to March 31.

Currently, the Board of Directors maintains and oversees the operations of 3 committees (Programs and Services, Revenue Development and Public Relations). All of these committees are actively seeking new members with exciting, fresh ideas! If you can make a full-year commitment, in a range of 5-15 hours a month (depending upon your level of involvement), then you are the person we are looking for.

At the Annual General Meeting in June, nominations and acceptance for the slate of officers take place. The Board also meets the first Wednesday of every month. Directors must be members of at least one committee.

Board members support the organization by:

  • Exercising financial control of fundraising from various sources and spending of raised funds
  • Approving the budget and other policies
  • Assessing major projects

Board members ensure the sound management of the organization by:

  • Monitoring matches through monthly caseworker reports and any contact with Big or Little Sisters
  • Assisting and supervising the full-time office staff
  • Examining public relations
